Description
This is what I saw one late morning when I was visiting friends in Jamestown, California. The picture is framed by the natural growth on their property and the distant water is New Melones Lake, a reservoir on the Stanislaus River in the central Sierra Nevada foothills, within Calaveras County and Tuolumne County, California. The project, originally authorized in 1944, was completed in 1980 and built by the US Army Corps of Engineers.
