Description
Maine is known for its lobster shacks and one that is elaborately decorated with buoys is pictured in the distance. Lobster shacks used to simply be where buoys are stored and traps repaired. But since the 1950s, they have become small eateries with fresh lobster. Lobster shacks are sprinkled along the coast and show off real fishing villages. The ocean gives off the smell of seaweed mingled with the funk of bait. You eat outside on picnic tables, so this is definitely a seasonal business.
