Description
I am in shock at the news of of a fire that has devastated Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris, France. I have been there and been inspired by its lofty beauty. I did not have a good camera back then so have no quality photos. I used a photo from another Gothic Cathedral in France, Amiens, to create this tribute and prayer for the people of France and the culture that built such beauty.
The last time I saw it, I went to a late afternoon Mass during which the tourists had been ushered out so when we left, that great church had returned to being a sacred space, filled with awe and silence. I shall treasure that memory. And now, I pray that we will safeguard our cultural treasures and hope we can re-build this stunning house of prayer.
