Description
I created this series to join the centuries-long effort to express the meaning of the cross. There are so many varieties of the cross, from Latin to the St. Andrew's Cross, but I have always loved the Roman Cross. This interpretation of the cross has four equal sides and has been the architectural basis for some of the early Christian churches. There is something about the very simple, satisfying shape of a square that I find compelling when the inside of the cross is where you find dynamism and some of the puzzling layers of this symbol. I also wanted to add my own, more modern interoperation of this ancient and inspiring symbol.
