Description
This lovely flower is one of many that graces the front of the House of Prayer in Carmel. There are other varieties, some are a darker orange and they all add beautiful color to the garden.
Gazania rigens, sometimes called treasure flower, is a species of flowering plant in the family Asteraceae, native to southern Africa. It is naturalized elsewhere and is widely cultivated as an ornamental garden plant. It is a spreading, low-growing, half-hardy perennial, growing to 20 inches tall and wide, with blue-grey foliage and brilliant yellow, daisy-like composite flower heads throughout the summer.
