This photograph was taken at the point of first bloom, so it was glorious, full and flawless. The original background didn't highlight the beauty of the rose, so when I "painted" it I replaced the background with a series of textures. The "Thick Paint" texture from Jai Johnson's collection added the textured, almost brush-like feel. The other textures are beneath it to create the abstract, almost sky-like background.
