Description
Where I live, in California's central valley, spring comes early, in February and lasts through April and early May. It is a glorious and wonderfully long season. When the winter is rainy, as it has been this season, wild flowers grow abundantly and the first to show up in spring are the bright yellow flowers of wild mustard plants. The yellow is almost too bright, so when I worked on this photo, I wanted to express the delicate beginnings of spring. So I used a texture from the 2 Lil Owls Studio Prairie collection to soften the image and the colors. I then created an image that is more blue by adding overlays and color layers with different blends.
