This Christmas image evokes the mystery of a season that is magic to children and a deep, sacred sense of the sacred to those who believe in the original Christmas story. The season is in winter, the coldest, darkest time of the year in the northern hemisphere. So the light of the bright star is ever more meaningful as the earth turns from its darkest point.
