Artist's Description

I was sure I would find iguanas difficult to see, but I was, instead fascinated by the beauty of their colors and the patterns of their sales. This is a land iguana I saw while on a trip to the Galapagos Islands. It's colors helped it blend into the almost desert and barren conditions of its surroundings. I wanted to highlight the earth tones I saw on this parched island, so used several different textures and blended them in a number of ways to create the final image.
