I saw so many amazing animals while on a tour of the Galapagos Islands and was introduced to an amazing variety of birds. This is a Swallow-Tailed Gull and I was able to get fairly close without scaring them away. Our guide explained that they do not perceive humans as a threat. That was a startlingly different experience and I was constantly amazed.
