Description
This lovely flower has a number of common names: Christmas Rose, Lenten Rose and Winter Rose, though it is not a rose, but a lovely flower that blooms in winter and during the liturgical season of Lent. Since it was the Lenten season when I created it, I chose that common name for its title. I wanted to create an image that resembled the beautiful 18th century botanical drawings.
