This is one small flower from a bouquet that my niece gave me. I was waiting for water to boil and just kept looking at its delicate complexity. This is a very small mum and it reminded me of seeing a small baby and being amazed at how all those complex parts are there, but in miniature. The original color was a deep yellow, but I wanted to create a more pastel, springy look, so I worked on it in Photoshop and Topaz Restyle, then added a Jai Johnson texture using masks and blending modes to create the finished image.
