This is a somewhat common flower found on bushes all over California as it is often used as fill in and color in landscapes. While its common name is Pride of Madeira, it is actually known as Echium candicans. The cone shape of the flower and the lovely variety of purples and blues makes it a lovely source of color and beauty.
