Description
I saw a bevy of these Long-billed Curlew waterbirds while walking along La Selva Beach in California. They look small from this distance, but are fairly large compared with similar waterbirds. The long, downturned bill is used to probe into mud and snag invertebrates. The coloring is mostly a buff shade of light brown with brighter cinnamon wings. I worked to achieve a more abstract final image using Topaz Impressions.
