This is was such a fun image to create. I have a friend who adores her cat, Charlie and she is also an avid knitter. She asked if I would be able to add a photo of one of her hats to a photo of her pet. So I Photoshopped for a while and then thought it would be fun to create an image that is similar to those wonderful classical portrait paintings. I accomplished that by adding several layers to replace the original background in the photo.
